A small team from Cologne – with 25 years of experience to draw on.

Codeflix was founded in 2020 by Guido Simon and Simon Retzmann, growing out of many years of self-employment and successful collaboration. Since then we have established ourselves in the market even through uncertain times and delivered above-average results for our clients. We work across industries, from manufacturing to sport & fitness, e-commerce, and consulting, training and coaching.

Our story

From IT consulting to an AI-native product

What started as a one-person consultancy in 2000 is today a team with its own office, its own private cloud and a first AI-native product. The key milestones.

  1. 2026

    Focus on AI and security

    We sharpened our focus on AI and information security – delivered large corporate information security projects for enterprise clients, built our first in-house AI cluster, and proved out Software IPS, our first AI-native product, as a proof of concept.

  2. End of 2025

    Sunsetting Competencee®

    Competencee was never our core business but a showcase from day one – proof that our software framework could handle a complex, data-intensive SaaS product end to end. That proof is done; everything we learned now feeds directly into our core products and client work.

  3. 2024

    Investing in people and consulting

    With our new Head of People & Culture we professionalised how we develop our team, and expanded our consulting business with new clients and long-term engagements.

  4. July 2023

    Change in management

    Simon Retzmann takes over operational management from Guido Simon. Both remain equal shareholders of Codeflix GmbH.

  5. January 2023

    Our own premises

    From remote and flex offices into the Codeflix office in the west of Cologne – Dürener Str. 220-222, Cologne-Lindenthal.

  6. May 2020

    Founding of Codeflix GmbH

    After many years of self-employment and successful collaboration, Guido Simon and Simon Retzmann found Codeflix GmbH.
